Welcome to my protective instrumentation strategies and ergonomic website. Through the years, dental care providers learned how to use conventional intraoral scaling techniques. Now, there are new innovative techniques that utilize both hands and extraoral fulcrums with proper ergonomic positioning to prevent musculoskeletal injuries.

My book on periodontal instrumentation and ergonomics demonstrates protective scaling strategies to help protect against injury. Coupled with my book, I am available to lecture to your organization, provide hands-on seminars that qualify for Continuing Education units and offer private consulting.

Lectures

Diane lectures to various dental study clubs, dental hygiene and periodontal societies and dental hygiene programs on reinforced periodontal instrumentation and ergonomics. She also provides hands-on clinical seminars that instruct participants on how to utilize protective instrumentation strategies that help prevent musculoskeletal injuries.

Hands-On Seminars

Hands-on seminars are offered to dental hygienists in private practice. A PowerPoint presentation lecture will be given and hands-on instruction will follow. Each hygienist will have the opportunity to learn advanced reinforced scaling techniques in conjunction with proper ergonomic positioning skills, and earn three units of continuing education.
